Welcome! I love education. I love thinking about it, talking about it, and the classroom time itself! I began teaching in elementary schools in 1994. In 2005, I became a doctoral student at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). My interests include education policy, teacher education, alternative teacher certification, research methods, and the psychology & sociology of education.

Journal of Teacher Education article online!

My study, "Feelings of Preparedness Among Alternatively Certified Teachers: What Is the Role of Program Features?" has just been published online!

Sage has posted it as an OnlineFirst article (link: http://jte.sagepub.com/content/early/2011/11/04/0022487111421933.abstract).

The article is going to be published in the next issue of the Journal of Teacher Education.

Unfortunately, there are very few tenured qualitative researchers at HGSE. At a sit-in yesterday, I spoke with a reporter from the Boston Globe about the problem.
